Day Three: Animal Kingdom

On the brief journey to Animal Kingdom, James began to complain that his ear was hurting.  By the time we parked and pulled him out of the car, he was burning with fever.  Thank goodness they sell Advil at the gate, because we dosed him up and, besides his excessive grumbling, we were ready to set off on our adventure.

The biggest "Absolutely Have To" ride here is the Kilimanjaro Safari where we ride through an "African wildlife preserve".  This allowed us to see the animals up close in their habitats.

When I say, "up close", I really mean it!  It was glorious.

In the African market, we took a bit of a break and enjoyed some music.

At the Tree of Life, we were entertained by It's Tough to be a Bug! 3D adventure.  Mom, Mark and I took the kids to Festival of a Lion King, a colorful musical performance.  It was very warm in there, so we took an ice cream break before finding the "big kids" who had all gotten wet butts on Kali River Rapids.

Mark and I rode Expedition Everest with the big kids while Jason, Abby and Mom took the kids on a Dino Land USA ride.

Courtney, Michael, Mark, Christian, Dad and I wanted to ride Dinosaur, but the ride shut down shortly after we joined the line.

We went back to the house pretty early in the afternoon to relax and play in the water.

In the evening after getting the boys all ready for bed, Mom, Dad, Courtney, Michael and I went back to Magic Kingdom where we watched fireworks over the castle.  This time we enjoyed a ferry ride across the lagoon instead of taking the monorail to the entrance.

The lines were so much shorter so we were able to watch Mom and Dad drive go-carts.  Dad rear-ended some kid and Mom gave him a tongue lashing for it.

We rode It's a Small World, the carousel, Peter Pan, and the Haunted House.

Magic Kingdom was much more magical this time around.  We got to be kids again, if only for a few brief hours.
